The Raiders made it three on the trot to keep their slim finals hopes alive after milestone woman Zahara Temara stepped up with a golden point field goal.
The Raiders hosted Wests Tigers in the national capital to launch a cracking Saturday of NRLW action. The resurgent Raiders were looking to continue the hot form, but Wests Tigers were always going to be tough to beat, having shown plenty of positive signs in 2025 despite having just one win to their name.
The second game of the day saw the Dragons and Warriors square off in Red V heartland in Kogarah.
For the final game of the triple header, we headed all the way to Townsville for a cracking showdown between ladder leaders the Roosters and the third-placed Cowboys who were riding a three-game winning streak.

Roosters: Round 9
Full-time: They were made to work hard early - and have suffered a severe injury blow to captain Isabelle Kelly - but the Roosters showed their class with a 30-0 win over the Cowboys.
67th min: Bit of drama with Taina Naividi awarded a possible eight-possible try, with the Bunker ruling she grounds the ball - but Krystal Blackwell coming in knees first in her attempt to defence is deemed a dangerous act. Kelleher misses the first conversion attempts from out wide, but is more successful from in front and puts the Roosters 30-0 in front.
Kelleher equals Ali Brigginshaw's season points total record of 80 with that conversion.
61st min: Rima Butler extends the lead even more for the Roosters with a powerful run close to the line proving too hard to stop. Kelleher converts again and it's 24-0 now with the Roosters running away with it late in the game.
Injury update: Bad news for both teams, with Kelly reportedly heading to hospital for a suspected broken jaw, while Whitfeld has her arm in a sling with an AC joint issue.
58th min: Sergis does get her second try after some good work in the middle of the field to set it up for her. A nice pass and a run back in through the defenders and the star centre puts the Roosters further in front. Kelleher gets her first conversion of the night for an 18-0 lead.
55th min: Another line drop out is almost rewarded with another try, this time with Kelleher running onto an Aiken pass and cutting back inside to score. But once more - the Bunker overrules and takes the try away for an obstruction, with Amber Hall impeding the attempt of Tallisha Harden to defend. Score remains 12-0.
52nd min injury alert: Roosters skipper Isabelle Kelly comes from the field clutching at her face after copping an accidental elbow to the chin.
47th min: Sergis thought she had a double, only for Bree Chester to spoil the show by knocking the ball out of her hands as she was spinning around to put the ball down. Score remains 12-0.
In good news for the Cowboys, Emma Manzelmann has returned to the field after suffering an ankle injury in the first half. However, Jakiya Whitfeld has ice on her shoulder and is on the sideline.
43rd min: A bit like the first half, it takes a bit of time and some to-and-fro football in the lead-up, but it's the patient Roosters who can score the first points of the half, with Jess Sergis over for a far too easy try. They force a drop out and can set up some nice attack, with the representative centre able to go over on the right relatively untouched. Kelleher's off night with the boot continues and it's 12-0.
Jessica Sergis Try
Half-time: It's been the tough contest we expected leading into the match, with the Roosters having to work hard for their 8-0 lead at the break. The visitors have had the advantage of 55 percent of the possession, buy are only the two tries in front. They thought they had a third, however, the Bunker overruled with Tarryn Aiken losing the ball over the line. The Cowboys will be hoping they can continue to match it with the defending premiers in the second half, but they will be sweating on the long-term fitness of co-captain Emma Manzelmann who came off mid-way through the first half with an ankle injury and centre Jakiya Whitfeld who came off late in the half as well.
30th min: The Roosters on a roll after they get a line drop out and keep up their relentless attack. Hall attracts defenders at the line and she is able to pop an offload out to Aiken who grabs the ball and darts over to score - except she loses it over the line and the Bunker takes her try away. Scores remain 8-0.
25th min: Amber Hall proves too hard to stop close to the line and she powers over for the second try of the afternoon for the Roosters. China Polata gave up a penalty for pressure on the kicker Tarryn Aiken - which clearly the Cowboys forward did not agree with the call - but it gave the visitors attacking position which they took. Jocelyn Kelleher can't convert this one either and it's 8-0.
21st min - injury alert: Cowboys skipper Emma Manzelmann heads from the field to assess an ankle injury. While it looked bad at first glance, the dummy half was able to walk herself off the field.
16th min: It's taken a little while, but it's the Roosters on the board first with Jayme Fressard over in the far right corner. The winger caught a great long cut-out ball from Brydie Parker in the middle of the field, where all the Cowboys defenders were stationed. The Cowboys had done well to hold out the Roosters as they tried to go over twice on their attacking right, but could not adjust quickly enough to the Roosters shifting the ball. The conversion attempt is waved away and it's 4-0.
Jayme Fressard Try
Kick off: The Roosters kick off the action in Townsville with first use of the ball.
Late Mail
Cowboys: In a late change, Essay Banu comes in to start in the second row, shifting China Polata to the bench. Earlier, the return of veteran Tallisha Harden (quad) sees Lillian Yarrow shift to the front row. Abigail Roache (concussion) remains sidelined, meaning Krystal Blackwell will start at fullback with Jakiya Whitfeld in the centres and Ana Malupo on the wing. Hailee-Jay Ormond-Maunsell is the 18th player.
Roosters: Star fullback Corban Baxter's return from an ankle injury suffered in Round 7 has been put on hold, with no late changes to the 1-18 on game day for the Roosters. Shawden Burton is the replacement player.

Warriors: Round 9
Full-time: A youthful Dragons outfit halt their losing streak with a hard-fought 26-18 win over the Warriors in an error-riddled game. Both sides struggled for momentum with a combined 29 errors in the game. St George Illawarra coach made a big selection call before the match with Zali Hopkins and Kasey Reh combining in the halves with the experienced Raecene McGregor omitted from the line up, but the young side rallied at home for an important win.
69th min: The Dragons finally put distance between themselves and the Warriors with a try which surely wraps up the win, with Millard dotting down on the left after a flick pass from Berry as she's going to ground. They go further in front 26-18.
53rd min: Unsuccessful captain's challenge from the Warriors with Harata Butler remaining pinged for not getting to her feet properly to play the ball.
52nd min: Kasey Reh goes off for a HIA and Maliepo is put on report after the Warriors half went on a huge run, fending off defenders, but in the process going high and getting Reh in the throat.
48th min: Another change to the lead with Shipton going over for a try of her own after setting up the last Dragons try, going over from dummyhalf. Millard converts this one and it's 22-18 to St George Illawarra.
Tori Shipton Try
45th min: Winger Takimoana goes over for her second of the day as well as the next try scorer in this seesawing match. Getting the ball from dummyhalf, she is able to just run and step her way through some Dragons defence that should have been more switched on close to their line. Maliepo converts again for 18-16.
39th min: Berry goes over to put the Dragons back in front, after some great work from Tori Shipton from dummy half sets up her speedy fullback to streak away. Millard converts and it's 16-12 to the home side.
Half-time: A bit of a stilled half of football with errors not allowing any either team to get too far ahead. But after being the better of the two sides early, the Dragons go into the sheds trailing 12-10 after the Warriors hit back late in the half with two quick-fire tries. Both coaches will be wanting their sides to clean up their act with eight errors from the Dragons and seven from the Warriors contributing to a 52 percent completion rate for the home side. The visitors aren't much better, with a completion rate of 65 percent.
28th min: Momentum has well and truly shifted in favour of the visitors now, with Maliepo getting the second try for the Warriors, chasing through on an Emmanita Paki kick into the in-goal. Maliepo slots the conversion to put her side in front 12-10.
25th min: Almost immediately, the Warriors capitalise on the Dragons error, with Payton Takimoana going over for yet another try this season. Maliepo slots the conversion and the scores narrow to 10-6.
25th min: Unsuccessful captain's challenge from the Dragons, with the on-field call of a knock on standing.
17th min: It's been an error-riddled half so far, but when they get things right, the Dragons score. The Warriors give up a penalty and dive the Dragons some forward momentum before a great run from star fullback Teagan Berry who bounces her way out of tackles and runs over the line for a try. Jayme Millard converts for a 10-0 lead.
8th min: Maria Paseka with the first try for the Dragons, with the ball coming out to her on the right side, when most of the attack was stationed on the left. However, a wrapping run from Kasey Reh who was there for an offload helps set it up and the home side are in front. The conversion attempt is waved away and it's 4-0.
Maria Paseka Try
Kick off: The Warriors take the kick off - and get the ball back from Patricia Maliepo's kick which was thrown back in from the Dragons. However, they can't make proper use of it and give up a scrum to the Dragons.
Late Mail
Dragons: More changes on game day, with Zali Hopkins moving to five-eighth to pair with Kasey Reh who is the new halfback in place of Raecene McGregor who has been omitted. Nita Maynard-Perrin is the new starting hooker. Other changes see a shuffle of the forwards, with Ella Koster starting in the second row and Trinity Tauaneai comes from the bench as the new lock. Charlotte Basham moves back to the bench, while Tori Shipton and Sara Sautia are promoted from the reserves to the interchange bench. Ahlivia Ingram is the 18th player. Earlier changes on Friday saw Maria Paseka coming in the wing in place of Tyra Ekepati while Pia Tapsell was added to the interchange, with Tahlia O’Brien and Jamilee McGregor out.
Warriors: A few extra shuffles on game day after mass changes on Friday. Kaiyah Atai is the new lock, with after Shakira Baker moved to the second row after originally being named in the centres on Friday. Maarire Puketapu is moved into the second row. Metanoia Fotu-Moala was earlier moved to the bench. Earlier, recent signing Paris Pickering came into the centres in jersey No.23 and Kalyn Takitimu-Cook comes in on the wing in No.22. Extra time winner: Milestone woman Zahara Temara steps up as she has so many times before for her team and slots over the winning field goal for a 17-16 victory.
Temara wins it for the Raiders!
Extra time: Raiders have first use of the ball.
Fulltime - scores are level! The game goes to golden point with the two teams stuck on 16-16 after regular time.
67th min: A horrible mix up at the back from the Raiders, with both the winger and the fullback trying to get the ball with no communication - with the referee's on field call of a knock on due to a transfer of the ball overturned by a captain's challenge.
63rd min: Simpson goes over for her second to help change the tide for the Raiders. After preventing a try up the other end of the field when the Tigers went out over the sideline, Canberra work back into the game and go upfield - despite some to-and-fro errors along the way. But another combination between the fullback and halfback Temara proves fruitful for points. Temara's kick is waved away for 16-16.
55th min: An unsuccessful captain's challenge from Wests Tigers, with the on-field call of a knock on supported.
41st min: The Tigers hit the lead with Turnbull going over for her second. The visitors have been full of energy this second half and have shown great intent which has been rewarded. Bass converts again and it's 16-12.
Salma Nour Try
39th min: The Tigers get the first try of the second half, with Salma Nour getting over after taking an offload from Tara Reinke after the visitors got multiple goes at attacking their line thanks to some Raiders errors. Bass converts and the scores narrow to 12-10.
Half-time: Despite an exciting end to the half with the Tigers throwing the ball around as they tried to nab one more try before the break, the Raiders are hanging on to a 12-4 lead as they head to the sheds. The Raiders had all the running early and shot out to a 12-0 lead, before the Tigers fought back.
25th min: The visitors are on the board through Caitlin Turnbull, who has been one of her side's best performers again so far this game. The Raiders gave up back-to-back penalties to invite the Tigers back into the game and their fullback happily obliged. Emily Bass can't convert and it's 12-4.
Caitlin Turnbull Try
17th min - injury alert: Raiders forward Sophie Holyman comes off the field for a HIA after a big front on collision with Sala Togatuki.
14th min: Another try to the Raiders and another try assist to Temara, with a nice short pass to her second rower Jordyn Preston running a great line back inside. Tigers had shown some good defensive resolve a few plays earlier, holding up Leianne Tufuga, they could not hold them out this time. Temara slots the conversion for 12-0.
Jordyn Preston Try
5th min: An early captain's challenge from the Tigers and it's successful, with an on-field call of a strip overturned.
2nd min: Elise Simpson gets the first try of the afternoon with a good run off a pass from Zahara Temara. Wests Tigers were unable to field a kick and gave up a line drop out and the Raiders were quick to capitalise. Milestone woman Temara gets the conversion for an early 6-0. lead.
