Eels v Roosters - Round 25, 2025
Full-time: Parramatta have stunned the Roosters with a dominant performance at CommBank Stadium. The Eels ran in six tries to two to continue their late-season resurgence. Mitchell Moses was fantastic for the hosts, while Mark Nawaqanitawase was in the thick of the action for the visitors. The loss came at a cost for the Roosters, with halfback Sam Walker suffering a head knock in the seventh minute. Eels 30 - Roosters 10.
Jordan Samrani 2nd Try
77th minute: That is the icing on the cake for Parramatta. Mitchell Moses produced a pinpoint bomb for Zac Lomax. Junior Tupou caught it, but the depth of the kick meant he leapt from the field of play. Lomax tackled him and the Roosters winger attempted a miracle flick pass as he fell to the ground. The ball bounced away from James Tedesco and Jordan Samrani was there to score his second. Eels 30 - Roosters 10.
70th minute: The errors are mounting for the Roosters and they're making things difficult for themselves. The latest is their 16th of the match and Parramatta are back on the attack. They haven't scored yet but Joash Papalii forced a repeat set and time is rapidly running out for the visitors. Eels 26 - Roosters 10.
Jordan Samrani 1st Try
65th minute: This game has a bit of everything. We have a bomb, a spectacular catch, multiple desperation offloads, a grubber, a follow up kick, a deflection and eventually a Parramatta try with Jordan Samrani diving on the loose ball to ground it inches inside the touch line. That was a crazy try so it's only fitting Mitchell Moses nailed the conversion from the sideline. The Eels are one step closer to a memorable victory. Eels 26 - Roosters 10.
Robert Toia Try
60th minute: The Roosters have a pulse and it's all thanks to Mark Nawaqanitawase. The winger has been in the thick of the action and has produced an outstanding flick pass straight into Rob Toia's chest. Nawaqanitawase had three Eels closing on and was rapidly approaching the sideline before producing yet another highlight reel play. Eels 20 - Roosters 10.
Mitchell Moses Try
52nd minute: The Eels just keep chipping away and have broken through after dominating the opening 12 minutes of the second half. Relentless defensive pressure forced the Roosters into multiple errors and Mitchell Moses ensured they capitalised. The halfback produced a superb grubber before beating James Tedesco to the ball to extend his side's lead. It's a long way back for the Roosters now. Eels 20 - Roosters 4.
45th minute: It was almost a dream start for the Eels with Josh Addo-Carr coming close to a hat-trick. Mark Nawaqanitawase, however, produced a superb try-saving tackle to bundle the winger into touch. Eels 14 - Roosters 4.
Kick-off: We are back for the second half, with the Roosters desperate to strike first after the break. The visitors are playing without halfback Sam Walker, who suffered a head knock in the seventh minute. Parramatta hold a 10-point lead and are desperate to close out the contest to secure a famous upset win. Eels 14 - Roosters 4.
Half-time: What a way to finish the half. The Eels dropped the ball with 15 seconds left. The Roosters rushed to stop the clock to pack the scrum and did so with two seconds left. Hugo Savala promptly put the ball in the air, James Tedesco chased, Isaiah Iongi dropped it. The ball flew straight to Rob Toia, who offloaded to Mark Nawaqanitawase, who raced 40 metres to score. The Bunker, however, has taken a close look at the contest and ruled the ball brushed Tedesco's arm. Parramatta dodge a bullet and will hold a 10-point lead at the break. A big moment that and we'll see what impact it has in the second half. Eels 14 - Eels 4.
33rd minute: Will Penisini has been awarded a try after pouncing on a loose ball in the in-goal, but the Eels centre does not look confident and the Bunker will take a closer look. The Eels continued their tactic of kicking to Zac Lomax, with the winger unable to reel the ball in. Replays show it touched his hand and went forward, with the try overturned. Eels 14 - Roosters 4.
Josh Addo-Carr 2nd Try
29th minute: That is some sensational rugby league from the Eels. Mitchell Moses kicked infield as he was being bundled into touch. Zac Lomax soared through the air to catch the bomb and offloaded the ball as he was being tackled. Dylan Walker, who had only just returned to the field after passing his HIA, then produced a pinpoint cross-field kick for Josh Addo-Carr who caught it and scored untouched. Eels 14 - Roosters 4.
24th minute: This time the Roosters are on the board. Hugo Savala produced a bomb for Mark Nawaqanitawase, who plucked the ball out of the air, lobbed the ball back infield as he was being tackled. James Tedesco was on the spot, caught the pass and scored the try. Eels 10 - Roosters 4
22nd minute: The Bunker has been busy tonight, with the referee sending a potential Roosters try upstairs. Mark Nawaqanitawase leapt for a bomb in a contest with Isaiah Iongi, the video referee has found a knock on but he has also spotted an escort and the Roosters receive a penalty. Eels 10 - Roosters 0.
21st minute: We have another Captain's Challenge, with the Eels now using their opportunity to appeal a ruling. The referee ruled Junior Paulo had lost the ball forward and the Bunker agreed, with the Roosters now receiving a chance to attack. Eels 10 - Roosters 0.
19th minute: The Roosters have run out of challenges, with Mark Nawaqanitawase ruled to have lost the ball. The visitors had argued it was a strip, but the Bunker said it was a loose carry and Parramatta are back on the attack. Eels 10 - Roosters 0.
18th minute: A physical start to this match is starting to take a toll, with Eels veteran Dylan Walker leaving the field for an HIA. Eels 10 - Roosters 0.
Josh Addo-Carr 1st Try
16th minute: The Roosters were hot on the attack but it's the Eels who have scored. Josh Addo-Carr plucked a pass out of the air, bobbled it, regathered it and raced 90 metres down the field to extend his side's lead. The winger had to go for the intercept, because the Roosters had an overlap and the gamble paid off. Eels 10 - Roosters 0
15th minute: Another trip to the Bunker, but this time it's the Roosters who are held up. Parramatta spilled the ball after their try and they have been under heavy pressure since. The visitors have received multiple fresh sets of six and will continue peppering their opponents. Eels 6 - Roosters 0.
J'maine Hopgood Try
10th minute: A double blow for the Roosters with Sam Walker ruled out of the contest. On the field, the Eels have finally broken through after Junior Tupou was unable to secure a bomb. Kelma Tuilagi caught the loose ball before sending J'maine Hopgood over for the opening points of the game. Eels 6 - Roosters 0
8th minute: Lots of concern for Sam Walker, who got his head in the wrong spot while attempting to tackle Eels forward Kelma Tuilagi. The Roosters halfback has left the field for an HIA. Meanwhile on the field, James Tedesco has somehow stopped Josh Addo-Carr from scoring in the corner, but the Roosters conceded a penalty in the process and the Eels remain on the attack. Eels 0 - Roosters 0.
5th minute: We're off to the Bunker for the second time in two minutes. Dylan Brown looked to have sliced his way through but was stopped Rob Toia and Mark Nawaqanitawase, who somehow managed to hold the Eels centre up. Eels 0 - Roosters 0.
4th minute: It's been a chaotic start to this match, with the Eels posing plenty of questions with ball in hand. The ball movement has led to an early attacking opportunity. There was contact in the contest for a grubber, with the Bunker clearing the contact but a Roosters knock on earlier in the play gives Parramatta a fresh set of six. Eels 0 - Roosters 0.
Kick-off: The final game of Super Saturday is underway, with Eels lock Dylan Walker running out for his 250th NRL match. The Roosters need a win to solidify their place in the eight, while Parramatta are eager to show there are green shoots in Jason Ryles' rebuild. Eels 0 - Roosters 0.
Late Mail
Eels: Jason Ryles' first-choice spine is starting to take shape, with Isaiah Iongi set to line up at fullback and Joash Papalii at five-eighth. Mitchell Moses is halfback and Ryley Smith will start at hooker. Luca Moretti has been ruled out for the season with a torn calf and Dylan Walker will start at lock in game 250 as a result. No changes for the Eels with Toni Mataele the 18th man.
Roosters: Coach Trent Robinson has reverted to the same pack he started the game with last week, with Spencer Leniu coming into the starting side, Naufahu Whyte shifting to lock, Victor Radley to second row and Benaiah Ioelu coming in to start at hooker. Connor Watson and Siua Wong both shift to the interchange. Ethan King is the 18th man. Daniel Tupou has been ruled out of Saturday's clash after showing concussion symptoms last week, with Junior Tupou coming into the side for his club debut.

Eddie Ieremia-Toeava Try
65th minute: The floodgates may have opened now, with the Warriors building pressure before the Titans eventually cracked. Multiple players came close in successive plays but it was Eddie Ieremia-Toeava who crashed over for his first try in the NRL. The lead is now 26 and the majority of the 23,271 fans at Cbus Super Stadium are on their feet. Titans 6 - Warriors 32.
62nd minute: We have a Warriors Captain's Challenge, with the visitors arguing ruck interference. The Bunker agrees and the Warriors have a penalty and an attacking set of six. Titans 6 - Warriors 26
Adam Pompey Try
59th minute: The Warriors have turned defence into points, with the visitors rolling the full length of the field after regathering the short dropout. Titans 6 - Wariors 18.
37th minute: The Warriors have produced some superb attack this evening, but their defence throughout the past five minutes has been just as impressive. The Titans were threatening to break through, but the Warriors swarmed in defence to force an error. Titans 6 - Warriors 18.
30th minute: Rugby league is a game of inches and the Titans have found themselves on the wrong side of that line. The winger had a clean run to the ball, but he just couldn't get there in time and grounded it on the touch line. Titans 6 - Warriors 18.
28th minute: The Titans need to knuckle down if they are to get back into this contest and they've just produced an important defensive stand. The effort was rewarded when they received a penalty in the subsequent set and Gold Coast have a chance to hit back. Titans 6 - Warriors 18.
