The battle of Brisbane pits sixth against eighth as the Broncos and Dolphins attempt to bounce back after the horrors of Round 23.

The Broncos' loss to the Storm was compounded by hamstring injuries to Adam Reynolds, Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo, while the Dolphins were blown off the park by the rampant Roosters.

Brisbane coach Michael Maguire will turn to 348-gamer Ben Hunt to steer the ship in Reynolds' absence and his battle with Dolphins young gun Isaiya Katoa will be an intriguing one.

The Dolphins have injury concerns of their own with gun centre Herbie Farnworth nursing a hamstring problem so both sides are being forced to showcase their depth as they bid to lock up a finals berth.

With a monster crowd guaranteed at Suncorp Stadium this promises to be a gripping contest between a Dolphins outfit chasing its first finals berth and a Broncos team looking to return to the glory days of 2023 when they went within an ace of premiership glory.

Team News

Broncos: Ben Hunt and Billy Walters form a new-look halves combination with Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam both nursing hamstring injuries. Cory Paix is the new starting hooker and Tyson Smoothy joins the bench. Josiah Karapani comes in on the wing for Selwyn Cobbo, the third victim of a hamstring injury against the Storm.

Dolphins: Francis Molo's suspension sees Mark Nicholls elevated to start at prop and veteran Kenny Bromwich join the bench for his first NRL action since Round 8. Jake Averillo has been named at centre with Tevita Naufahu on the wing after they slotted into those positions last week and combined well on the left edge.
