The Cowboys have claimed a historic victory over the Parramatta Eels in the final game of Round 6 to climb into the NRLW top four.

North Queensland dominated the second half to turn a 10-0 deficit into a 14-10 win to defeat the Eels for the first time.

The loss continues Parramatta's lean run at CommBank Stadium, with the Eels now falling in seven-straight games at the venue.

Titans v Roosters – Round 6, 2025

Earlier on Sunday, the Roosters remained unbeaten after defeating the Titans 24-8 while the Broncos left the Raiders still searching for their first win after a 44-28 victory at GIO Stadium.

The rampant Roosters have made it six on the trot to move within one of the club record of seven set in 2021-22 while it was a costly loss for the Titans with Jaime Chapman (ankle) and Pauline Piliae-Rasabale (hamstring) leaving the field with injuries.

Raiders v Broncos - Round 6, 2025

Meanwhile, the winless Raiders had a horror start against a star-studded Broncos side who ran in three tries in the first 16 minutes. However, Darrin Borthwick's side should take plenty of positives out of the match after climbing their way back to a four-point deficit in the second half.

Eels v Cowboys – Round 6, 2025

Press Conferences

Eels: Round 6

Cowboys: Round 6

Full-time: North Queensland have claimed their first NRLW victory over the Parramatta Eels. The Cowboys dominated the second half to turn a 10-0 deficit into a 14-10 win, Francesca Goldthorpe scoring the match-winner with 16 minutes to play. Parramatta had opportunities to level the scores late, however their red-zone attack was wide of the mark. Eels 10 - Cowboys 14.

66th minute: A North Queensland error handed Parramatta another chance, however their red-zone attack has been off the mark in the past few minutes. The Cowboys had an answer for each question posed before a poor pass led to a Mahalia Murphy error. The hosts are rapidly running out of time. Eels 10 - Cowboys 14.

63rd minute: The door was ajar for Parramatta, after a Rachael Pearson bomb drew a knock on and an attacking set of six. Elsie Albert dropped the ball on the first tackle, with the Eels challenging the decision. The Bunker dismisses the appeal and North Queensland survive. Eels 10 - Cowboys 14.

Francesca Goldthorp 2nd Try

56th minute: North Queensland have capitalised on the penalty, with Francesca Goldthorpe scoring her second in the corner to put her team in front. Tahlulah Tillett drew in the defence initially, before Jasmine Peters produced a superb offload and Goldthorpe did exceptionally well to stay inside the field of play and ground the ball. The Cowboys have scored three in a row and are in the lead with 13 to play. Eels 10 - Cowboys 14.

54th minute: Now we have a Cowboys Captain's Challenge, with the visitors appealing a ruling of an incorrect play the ball. The Bunker has ruled ruck interference and handed North Queensland a penalty. That could be a big momentum swing with the Cowboys to go back on the attack. Eels 10 - Cowboys 10.

52nd minute: More bad news for the Eels, with interchange forward Tyla Amiatu leaving the field with what appears to be a shoulder injury. On the field, the Cowboys are rolling, but Parramatta halfback Rachael Pearson just took a crucial catch to defuse a bomb and ease some of the pressure. Eels 10 - Cowboys 10.

Jakiya Whitfeld Try

50th minute: The Cowboys have gone bang-bang to level the scores. Zali Fay dropped a bomb, which handed the visitors a chance to attack. A knock down led to a North Queensland scrum and they executed a perfect set-piece play for Jakiya Whitfeld to score in the corner. Kirra Dibb's sideline conversion hit the post and we are all locked up with 20 minutes to play. Eels 10 - Cowboys 10.

Francesca Goldthorp Try

46th minute: North Queensland are on the board. The visitors ran the ball on the last tackle, shifting all the way to the right edge. The ball ended up in Francesca Goldthorpe's hands, who had plenty of space to sprint to the corner and she capitalised. Kirra Dibb then nailed the sideline conversion to cut the deficit to four. Eels 10 - Cowboys 6.

45th minute: We're off to the Bunker after Kirra Dibb attempted to burrow over from dummy half. The Cowboys five-eighth was held up by Abbi Church and Parramatta continue to hold firm. Eels 10 - Cowboys 0.

Rosemarie Beckett Try

38th minute: Rosie Beckett has produced a pinpoint bomb and she's chased through to collect the spoils and score her side's second of the night. Zali Fay leapt for the bomb in a contest with Cowboys winger Francesca Goldthorpe, who knocked it forward. Beckett was there to pick up the loose ball and extend the Eels' lead. Eels 10 - Cowboys 0.

Kick-off: The action is back underway at CommBank Stadium, with North Queensland kicking off the second half. The Cowboys are desperate to strike first as they look to overcome a four-point deficit, while Parramatta are looking to kick clear after the break. Eels 4 - Cowboys 0.

Church with a try saver on her counterpart

Half-time: North Queensland had a late chance to level the scores before the half-time siren sounded and they came close when Jakiya Whitfeld was held up but the Eels managed to defend their line and maintain their four-point advantage at the break. The heavens opened as the game commenced, but that didn't stop the teams throwing the ball around, however the defence from both sides was exceptional throughout an enthralling 35 minutes. Eels 4 - Cowboys 0.

Rueben Cherrington Try

30th minute: Parramatta kept on knocking on the door and eventually they crashed through for the opening points of the game. Elsie Albert produced a dominant carry on the dropout return to set the tone for the set and Rueben Cherrington darted over from dummy-half a few plays later to put her team in front. Eels 4 - Cowboys 0

29th minute: The Cowboys have called for a Captain's Challenge. A Rachael Pearson kick led to a loose ball and a line dropout, however the visitors have argued Elsie Albert was in front of the kicker. The vision isn't entirely clear and the Bunker supports the on-field decision. North Queensland will retain their challenge but will have a line dropout and a set to defend. Eels 0 - Cowboys 0

25th minute: The Eels have enjoyed some time on the attack, however North Queensland's defence continues to repel their opponents. The Cowboys have the best defence in the competitions, conceding the fewest points and missed tackles through the opening five weeks of the season. Eels 0 - Cowboys 0.

17th minute: This time it's the hosts' turn to turn up defensively and they've held firm to deny North Queensland. Despite the conditions, there's been plenty of attacking football from both sides resulting in some end-to-end action. The deadlock, however, continues. Eels 0 - Cowboys 0.

What a try saver from Whitfeld

11th minute: The Eels were forced to do plenty of defence early but they've taken control of the contest in the last few minutes. Rueben Cherrington has enjoyed success sniping around the ruck, while Rosie Beckett forced a line dropout with a perfectly placed grubber into the in goal. Fullback Abbi Church looked destined to score a few plays later, only to be held up by Jakiya Whitfeld and North Queensland survive. Eels 0 - Cowboys 0.

5th minute: Parramatta have spent the opening five minutes defending their own line, with North Queensland forcing multiple repeat sets. The Eels, however, held firm and turned their opponents off. The conditions have deteriorated significantly at CommBank Stadium. The rain largely held off for the men's game, but the heavens have opened and it is bucketing down for this one. Eels 0 - Cowboys 0.

Kick-off: We are underway at CommBank Stadium, with the Eels kicking off the final game of Round 6. Parramatta are without a number of key players, but they have plenty of confidence after last week's win over the Dragons. North Queensland are coming off a loss to the Warriors but the return of playmaker Kirra Dibb is a major boost. Eels 0 - Cowboys 0.

  • The Eels have won both games against the Cowboys.
  • The Cowboys have won their last two games in Sydney.
