One of the most pivotal clashes of Round 22 takes place at 4 Pines Park on Saturday night when ninth-placed Manly host the 10th-placed Roosters in a fight for finals survival.

Both sides have shown glimpses of their best in 2025 but inconsistency has cost them dearly and they now find themselves locked in battle with the Broncos, Sharks and Dolphins for spots in the bottom half of the top eight.

The Roosters pushed the Storm all the way in Round 21 but still slumped to a third loss in their past four games while the Sea Eagles were simply blown off the park by a rampant Bulldogs outfit.

That brought a three-game winning streak to a shuddering halt and came with the added pain of a season-ending injury to Haumole Olakau'atu but in front of a packed Brookvale crowd on a Saturday night expect DCE and his men to come out firing.

Team News

Sea Eagles: Corey Waddell starts the game in the back row in place of Haumole Olakau'atu (shoulder). Jake Simpkin returns from the concussion protocols on the bench with Tommy Talau also coming in for his first game since Round 18. Gordon Chan Kum Tong drops back to the reserves.

Roosters: Billy Smith (concussion) and Hugo Savala (wrist) are back on deck so Ethan King moves 18th man while Sandon Smith has entered the concussion protocols. Salesi Foketi and Spencer Leniu go back to the bench after starting last week although a late switch with Siua Wong and Egan Butcher could again be on the cards. Benaiah Ioelu has displaced Zach Dockar-Clay from the bench. Victor Radley is listed among the reserves as he looks to return from a shoulder injury.
