British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), the state-owned Canadian lottery and gaming operator, has announced it is now ready to expand the reach of its online gambling platform into the Saskatchewan province.

PlayNow.com, the platform owned and operated by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, is the only online casino licensed to deliver live dealer games in British Columbia. In 2020, the corporation has taken the decision to increase its weekly transfer-in limit to up to 100,000 Canadian dollars in order to attract high-rollers to its website.

Now the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and SaskGaming signed an agreement with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, allowing customers in the province to gain access to over 400 casino games, live casino entertainment, poker rooms and also sports betting products.

The agreement was reached following a request for proposal process that was launched by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority last year. Lynda Cavanaugh, the Chief Executive Officer and Interim President of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, expressed her belief that the partnership would “reinforce the confidence the legal gambling industry has in BCLC”.

Moreover, the BCLC chief executive added that PlayNow.com is “the only gambling website in North America” that offers dedicated player-health specialists which can be contacted at any time via live chat.

The new partnership expanded the reach of PlayNow.com to three Canadian provinces as it was initially available in British Columbia since 2004 and then launched in Manitoba in 2013 in partnership with Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries.

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation was established in 1985 and it is a government-owned company. It has 890 direct employees, while Its service providers employ an additional 8,300 people in the province.

Moreover, the company’s net income goes back to the provincial government in order to help provide funds for healthcare, education and community programs. In the 2020-2021 fiscal year, the British Columbia Lottery Corporation has reported a revenue of 965.6 million Canadian dollars.
